The design might be a bit controversial because of relatively short hive body. Last year I had tried the longer hive bodies and the bees drew only nine to eleven bars. OK, it was a really bad year and I didn't know to feed them until too late but both hives made it through the winter on those little stores.
The measurements I provided are to accommodate two eight bar supers on top:




I'll have to check with The Source about this design. My thought is side-by side supers in early spring-summer, stacked on top supers after the harvest, for their winter stores build-up.
